REVIEW AND INTERVIEW WITH SUN 13:
“Apotheosis Animæ is arguably the dream state committed to tape. Narim, in constant flux of creation, with solace and inner piece the key focal points. You can really feel that with these compositions, and through the miasma of this esoteric sound world, Narim creates a space to escape and seek refuge.”

From Tbilisi, Georgia, Gvantsa Narim is an enigmatic sound artist, who starting writing music in 2013.

Taking inspiration from religion, esotericism and Georgian polyphonic music, her latest work was written in late 2022 / early 2023 and tells the dark and cold story of winter. Apotheosis and soulful whispering like the wind, where the immensity of mysticism reigns.

"There are moments of grand, sweeping ambience, which convey the comforting experience of watching large flakes fall, heavy and silent, settling thick & deep in a silent white blanket; there are also moments of gritty disturbance, swirling glacial winds"

"Narimanidze is a masterful sound designer, capable of infusing her pieces with a naturalistic spirit but also a searching, inquisitive, unresolved quality. Those signature flourishes can be found all over Apotheosis Animæ, representing a fantastically intricate, complex and yet spiritually rewarding body of work."

"“Apotheosis Animæ” is a mature album whose specific aura is difficult to put into words and yet – even in the summertime – can be felt all the more. The constantly occurring interplay of disturbing (sound) events and an ultimately enclosing, reconciling bracket never seems like a half-hearted compromise, but reveals a strong desire for harmony that keeps eyes and ears open for everything that simmers beneath the surface , not locked."

"Dreams seem real in the beguiling confines of Apotheosis Animæ. Chamber-like pieces simmer before merging into futuristic, arpeggiated synthscapes that traverse a neon sea. Narim wields countless approaches, using shifting palettes to bend discrepant genres into novel sonic forms. Distant views of small moments are amplified through prismatic electronics and drifting pads. Scattered, skittering rhythms offer touchpoints, but only in certain spots; most often, we’re left to find our own way through this evolving dreamworld. Hazy motifs hide the edges of beautiful and hypnotic tonal patterns, but the obscured glances add a subliminal effect as this music seeps into our core. Emotive piano passages sink to the depths, the heartbeat slowing as it descends to find a welcoming foundation. Apotheosis Animæ is such a memorable listen."
