This album was inspired by several visits to the Sri Veeramakaliamman temple in Singapore.
Travelling through Southeast Asia & Australia in 2008, I found myself back in that city-state many times, it being a hub for travellers in the region.
I would visit Little India, particularly the temple to Kali.
Deepavali, the Festival of Lights was in progress & I was fortunate enough to witness some lively ceremonies there.
Enda, drummer & mridangam player, brought something of his travels & studies in India to many of these pieces & I hope that something of the calmness & the chaos we both witnessed shines through.
Special thanks to Ulrich for bringing his own magical sound too...

This album makes you feel like you're inside an old computer that is on it's last legs. Everything is glitchy, aggressive, and decaying around you. There are only a few moments where it feels something is still functioning and intact, only to be followed by more sounds of disrepair. Truly a special experience. icu8some2
